COCKTAIL OF THE MONTH

For as long as anyone can remember, the bar has been a shrine to personality. Patrons become regulars at a bar because they love the atmosphere and experience, much of which is provided by the people there - and often a specific person behind the bar. This month, Bartender Tim Riley, shows you how to serve up 606 Congress's hottest
summer drink.


WHIPLASH COCKTAIL
2 ounces Leblon Cacha├ža
3/4 ounce Lavender Syrup*
1/2 ounce Fresh-Squeezed Lime Juice
1/2 ounce Vya Sweet Vermouth

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice. Shake and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime wedge.

*Lavender Syrup
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 1/4 tablespoons dried lavender flowers

Bring water, sugar and dried lavender to a simmer over medium heat. Remove from heat and cover and let steep for two hours. Strain.
